Honeysuckle Soap is a small business dedicated to making high quality handmade soaps and lotions at affordable prices.
What makes our Soap so special?
Our soap is made using the cold process method, which retains the naturally occurring glycerin. We use the highest quality oils of Olive, Coconut, Sustainable Palm, Sweet Almond, Castor, Shea Butter and Avocado. Specially selected herbs, goat milk, vegetables, clays, oatmeal, essential and fragrance oils are carefully selected for a final touch. All soaps are preservative free to avoid unnecessary skin irritation. Unlike the harsh effects of petroleum-based soaps, these pure ingredients have been known to help skin infirmities, which are irritated by most commercial soaps.
What is the difference between Honeysuckle Soap and commercially prepared soaps?
Most commercial “soaps” are not soaps at all, they are actually detergent bars. Commercial soaps often use a synthetic detergent such as sodium lauryl sulfate. When a commercial soap is processed, the glycerin is often removed and sold to the cosmetic industry and others because it is a valuable by-product. Our cold-processed method ensures that the natural glycerin is retained in each bar of Honeysuckle Soap. Glycerin is a natural humectant, which means it attracts moisture to your skin. Glycerin is what creates the silky, smooth feeling you notice when using a bar of Honeysuckle Soap.
Lotions
Honeysuckle Soap’s nourishing body and facial lotions penetrate and moisturize your skin, leaving it ever so soft and silky. We use the highest quality ingredients, such as jojoba, sweet almond, mango butter, evening primrose, aloe extract, meadowfoam, apricot kernel, macadamia, grape seed and shea butter, and we NEVER use parabens or mineral oil. These natural oils are easily absorbed into the skin and are designed to moisturize and hydrate. The outcome is a noticeably healthier and more radiant skin tone. All natural Vitamin E, an excellent antioxidant, is added to each of our lotions to help skin look younger by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Free radicals are believed to play an important role in skin aging and therefore the antioxidant activity in Vitamin E is quite valuable.
What is in many commercially made lotions?
Many commercially produced lotions contain ingredients that can have negative effects on the skin, including Parabens. Parabens are a synthetic preservative known to cause skin irritations, rashes and a wide array of allergic reactions. Traces of Parabens have even been found in breast tumor tissue samples.
Mineral oil, frequently found in commercially made products and a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil, is also found in many of the more expensive brands of lotions. Mineral oil is very difficult to absorb into the skin. As a result, it sits on the surface of the skin and clogs pores. This prevents the required absorption that would allow healthy oils to soothe and protect the skin.
Healthy skin is very important to overall well-being. Skin is the largest human organ and is the first line of defense against harmful substances, temperature, infection and dehydration. We truly believe that what we use on our skin is as important as what we eat to nourish our bodies. Your skin will feel clean, smooth and soft after using our products.
It’s food for your skin……feel the difference!
